AFFORDABILITY STARTS WITH LOWER TAXES
STANDING FOR FREEDOM
DISTRICT 81 STATE REPRESENTATIVE RJ HAWK
EXPLAINS WHY HE'S RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION

ABOUT
MEET
RJ HAWK
The focus of my campaign is standing against government overreach, continuing to cut taxes, and creating more opportunities for Arkansans to land good-paying jobs.
I have a record of putting more money back in your pocket. In the Arkansas House, I voted to cut the state income tax rate from 4.4% to 3.9%. In the 2026 special session, I supported cutting the top individual income tax rate again—from 3.9% to 3.7%—and reducing the top corporate rate from 4.3% to 4.1%.
We have also delivered real property-tax relief. I co-sponsored raising the Homestead Tax Credit to $500, then co-sponsored the 2025 increase from $500 to $600. In the 2026 fiscal session, I supported raising it again to $675. If re-elected, I will keep working to lower taxes and make life more affordable for families in District 81.
In 2023, we passed the largest education reform this state has ever seen. I was proud to co-sponsor that legislation and vote for it. In 2025, I continued that work by co-sponsoring bills to support our schools, including a measure to keep the sales-tax exemption on instructional materials when schools lease textbooks instead of buying them.
Having another opportunity to serve the people of Saline County at the state level is an honor. District 81 is home, and it is an area where I won every precinct in the 2022 election. I look forward to re-engaging my friends, neighbors, and community—and listening to their concerns.
Giving back is a family priority. I have led fundraising efforts for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Child Advocacy Center, Special Olympics, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
I’ve always believed that a strong community and a strong state require people who give back. I’ve been fortunate, and I want to see folks get a hand up when they need one.
I spent 14 years on 103.7 The Buzz and still broadcast Arkansas high school football, basketball, and baseball state championships on Arkansas PBS. I own Realty One Group Pinnacle, a real estate brokerage in Bryant. My wife, Brianna, and I have a daughter, Addison, and a son, Austin. I am a conservative Republican and an unapologetic supporter of the Second Amendment. In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and calling high school sports on local radio.
